Portia Santucci B.A. (Hons), R.Ac

A passion for history, nature and culture led Portia to major in anthropology and environmental science at the University of Toronto. Shortly after graduating, Portia suffered a traumatic injury to her left hand and through acupuncture treatments made an unprecedented recovery and was able to regain complete function of her hand. Inspired and motivated to share the vast healing potential of acupuncture, Portia embarked on a calling to become an acupuncturist. In 2010, she graduated from Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a diploma of Acupuncture and Certificates in Herbal Medicine and Tuina Massage. Portia began working in a Rehab clinic focussing on injury treatment and then went on to work in multidisciplinary and wellness centres gaining experience treating a diverse range of problems from focal injuries to systemic balancing.

Portia uses Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture point selection as well as Dr. Tan and Dr. Tung methods. She also uses the micro acupuncture systems of the ear and hand. If you don't like needles, acupressure and Tuina massage work to activate the functions of the acupuncture points and can be just as effective in many cases. Cupping can also be added for a deep tissue treatment that is both relaxing and detoxifying. She also is certified in Cosmetic Acupuncture which works to improve the health and elasticity of the skin making your skin look healthier and younger.
